Great Bay Gospel Fellowship in Little Egg Harbor is hosting the Story of God Weekend Friday, Jan. 11, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We are a storyformed people. We are shaped by the stories we live and believe. For thousands of years, stories and oral traditions were the key ways both Jewish and Christian people learned about and experienced God.
The Bible never claims to be just another religious document, but it does claim to be God’s true story of the world.
As a church we engage with the biblical narrative through stories as one of our primary ways of teaching and engaging the Word. If we are going to be a church that is faithful to our calling in this world then we must learn to see through the lens of the Biblical Story. The Story of God weekend will be a place to learn, understand, experience and connect with God through the Word in community.
This is not just for “new Christians”, but for the spiritually curious to the church leader. We all want to continue to be shaped by who God is, what He has done, and who we are in light of that. We want to find our place in the Story that God is weaving throughout history- but to do that we need to know the story.
Experience the Bible as one grand redemptive story through storytelling and dialogue.
